During my 50+ years service as Chartered Accountant I found that vast majority of us Indians, including me, have been led to believe that we are over populated, exploited, underdogs who have little future in their own country. Poverty, malnourishment, dependence on big powers for better days is considered inevitable. My independent study proves that these are self-inflicted delusions. We are blessed with abundant natural resources and several other positive factors which can make us among the top 5 richest and most powerful nations. It is heartening that the thesis of this book published in September 2001 has been received well and of late many politicians, industrialists, economists etc. have also started endorsing the view that India can and therefore should aspire to become a World Power.

Truly a wonderful book and a must-read! Presented in such a precise and analytical manner yet with perfect analogies & metaphors, the author, Vishvas Deshmukh, objectively shows the great potential of India's culture, land, and people. What an eye-opener it is, and way ahead of its time written decades ago! All Indians would benefit from discovering about this heritage. Kudos and many thanks to you Sir, for such an enriching and enlightening book!

I was saying I read the English version, and then also bought the Marathi version for my aunt, and I bought the Hindi version for my grandparents, and they really enjoyed it too. They couldn't post a reply, but said that they had never before read such a factual account as assets and liabilities of a nation and culture, and never seen it from such a unique perspective.
